Dear Friends,
For all of us, Ronald McDonald House Houston is a very special place. It’s a place that provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children. It’s a place that offers parents a place to stay during very difficult days. It’s a place to meet, share and connect with others who are experiencing the same crisis. Founded over 40 years ago, RMH Houston has continued to help keep families close when they need it most.
Like everyone in Houston, the presence of the Coronavirus crisis in our community caused the RMH Houston team to adjust and adapt to new norms. Keeping our families safe and healthy, especially children who are already immune-compromised, has and always will be our first priority. Regardless of the presence of COVID-19 in our community, we are committed to continuing our mission. Even during the pandemic, a child with a life-threatening illness cannot put their medical treatment on pause.
Leading us through this tumultuous time is our new Chief Executive Officer, Cristina Vetrano. Already, in only two months, Cristina has brought innovative ideas and energy to our House. She is a career professional in the non-profit sector, even spending time in the Peace Corps. Cristina has experience working in health care and leading other organizations in Houston. We are very lucky to have her, especially now. I’d like to introduce you to Cristina via this short video.
If you’d like to share your experiences from being at the House and hear more about Cristina's vision for the future, sign up for Coffee with Cristina, a casual, virtual meet and greet.
We’ve all been homebound and want to help our community in a safe way. If you’d like to support RMH Houston, click here. Every gift of every amount makes a difference. Consider forwarding this e-mail to a friend who cares about you. Help us share our great news and mission.
Most importantly, thank you for caring about our community. Even during the toughest days, there is always good.
Warmly,
